Sentinel Sentinel is carved from a piece of Elm cut from a large piece of a beach groin found drifting about just off Juno Beach in Normandy. I slept with it on my bed in the camper for two weeks until we went back home. I used a dark stain to bring out the figuring in the wood. The sight of a Cormorant amongst rushes on the coast brought this piece to life.Sentinel went as a prize in a raffle run by our exercise club, Happy Hearts, and like most of my pieces I don’t have a clue where it lives now, but probably Dorset.
