The keyboard is built from fourteen separate wedge shaped sections of Oak, each screwed and glued to the next, except for the last one which is only glued to avoid visible screw heads. The piece is two sided with different coloured sharps and flats on each side, ebony on one side and Meranti (I think) on the other. The base is a very heavy chunk of Delabole Slate.
